ABOUT ME

Dr. Springstead has been a professor at Western Michigan University since Fall 2012.  Currently, he studies the activation of endothelial cells by oxidized phospholipids, an event which can lead to the development of atherosclerosis, an underlying condition in heart disease and stroke.  In his future research, he will further clarify the mechanisms involved in atherosclerosis, explore the development and delivery of novel therapeutics for treatment, and determine size of LDL by a light scattering machine.
